Uitbreiding van het school gebouw maakt het geschikt voor hedendaags gebruik en geeft het geheel een dynamische vorm met een moderne uitstraling. De overdekte driehoekige binnenplaats vormt het hart van de school, waar de leerlingen de ruimte hebben voor gevarieerd gebruik in de loop van de dag en in de loop van het jaar. Alle ruimtes en trap- penhuizen komen uit op galerijen op drie niveaus rondom de binnenplaats. Licht valt van boven door ramen rondom, die het opgetilde dak dragen.

Lycée Bernard Palissy needed space to develop from a technical school to a modernday highschool. The floorplan reflects the natural flow of contemporary school use being organised around a triangular central hall serving simultaneously as a passageway and meeting space. A strip of windows carrying the lifted roof diffuses light into the foyer lined with classrooms, offices and studios on three levels. The triangular shape, the horizontality and the lifted hallroof combine functionality with a dynamic character.

Une architecture contemporaine est choisi pour élargir le lycée mettant en valeur également la partie ancienne. Un plan masse triangulaire et des rythmes horizontales de façade donnent un dyna- misme a l’ensemble du bati. La partie haute de toiture domine la cour d’interieure et laisse passer la lumière. La cour d’interieur est un lieu de rassemblement et de repos pour les étudiants. l’élargissement permet de créer plus espace de travail comme salles de classe, ateliers, activités sportives.
