Appartementencomplex met in de plint winkels en werkruimten vergroot de levendigheid van de buurt. Het nieuwe gebouw continueert de eenheid in de naoorlogse Boosten driehoek, maar is verdeeld in zes gelijke blokken. Dat brengt het complex in verband met de omringende vooroorlogse bebouwing en zorgt voor doorzonning en warmte op straat. De zonnepanelen in balustrades en boven de entree maken het complex netto leverancier van energie. Het watersysteem is gebaseerd op hergebruik en interne voorzuivering in de daktuin boven de parkeergarage.

Redevelopmentplan on the site of a former policestation at the city entrance of Heerlen. The design aims at making the existing environment more attractive, creating new apartments, shops and restaurants thus bringing vitality and sunlight at streetlevel. The courtyard placed on top of the underground carpark is richly planted. A system has been designed to collect rainwater for watering the green. The use of Photo Voltaic cells in balustrades and the entrance canopy provides for warm water and renewable energy.

Le reamenagement du bureau de police en une operation de logements et commerces avait pour but de redonner au quartier son rythme et son echelle humaine en concordance avec l’ensemble apres guerre et le bati avant guerre autour. L’immeuble compose des unités de volumes sépares permet la lumiere solaire de filtrer sur la rue. Les ateliers et des petites commerces sur rue créent un atmosphère sécurisant et animee. Le rez de chaussée côté cour heberge des logements pour les personnes âgés avec un jardin à l’arrière du bâtiment et des services medicaux tout pres situees au niveau du parking longeant la rue.
