Ontwerp in varianten voor een aardbevingbestendige middelbare school met bibliotheek en sport faciliteiten. Een gebouw verdeeld in blokken kan aardtrillingen beter opvangen dan een doorlopend geheel. Beide varianten bestaan uit een hoofdgebouw met twee vleugels. Het hoofdgebouw biedt ruimte aan algemene voorzieningen zoals een kantine, een sportzaal en bibliotheek. Voorzieningen waarmee de school ook een buurtfunctie kan krijgen na de weder opbouw. De vleugels herbergen de klaslokalen. De binnenplaats is beschut tegen de zon door een semidoorlatend dak.

The design for a new school in Bam Iran consists of a main building with two wings on either side of an atrium. The atrium is shielded from the sun by a screen, preferably in photovoltaic cells to allow for the energy supply of the school and public buildings in the neighbourhood. Whereas the wings house the classrooms the main building hosts the district library, sport facilities and the school restaurant. Thus providing a lively district center beyond school hours. The building is divided in several pavilions for overall stability and as a safety measure against earthquakes.

Recherche des formes et de techniques adequates pour les batiments scolaires dans des régions a haut risque d’ activités seis- miques. Pour mieux résister a des activités seismiques la construction spécifique en materiaux légers est nécessaire. L’ensemble de l’ école est divisé en petites unités de bati autour d’un cour. Le cour est couvert d’un préau préferrement en panneaux solaires pour créer un peu de fraicheur au climat assez sévère du centre d’Iran. Les barres hébergent les classes. Le batiment principal contient la bibliothèque, la salle du sport et la cantine. Grace a ces dispositions l’école peut jouer un role sociale dans le quartier.
