De Stefanus biedt een plek aan theater- en muziekmakers om hun ideeën tot ontwikkeling te brengen in relatieve afzondering, maar ook een uitnodigend podium met het theatercafé als ontmoetingsplek. Om het gebouw aantrekkelijk te maken voor haar nieuwe functie wordt een toegang gecreerd met een theatercafe aan de weg en in de binnenplaats wordt een aantal studios geplaatst afgedekt met een extra zaal voor 100 plaatsen.

Conversion of Stefanus church into a district theater fits in with a vast operation of upgrading postwar city districts. Insertions were to have a minimal physical impact on the existing design consisting of a large celebratory space and offices around an atrium. The atrium was covered with a translucent roof to accomodate the insertion of studios on the ground floor with an auditorium of 100 places on top of it serving at the same time as a terrace for the composer cafe.

La transformation de l’eglise Stefanus en lieu culturel vise a créer un lieu de rencontre pour la population de diverse origine du quartier après guerre et donne moyen de s’exprimer. Pour briser la sobriété du batiment une entrée transparante a été creé sur la rue accompagnée d’un bar. Au rez de chaussee du cour centrale des ateliers portent une nouvelle cour a niveau servant de temps a autre de scene thea-trale et terrasse couvert.
